Fadi Shayya: At the Edge of the City: Reinhabiting Public Space Toward the Recovery of Beirut’s Horsh Al-Sanawbar

A contemporary critique of urban governance and spatial production in Beirut. The presentation charts an alternative discourse from that which produces the exclusion from public spaces in Beirut. Exploring issues of advocacy and politics, Shayya’s book and research project ‘At the Edge of the City’ is a platform to contest the existing governance of Beirut’s park and to advocate a well-informed public space policy agenda.  23 October 2010 / 17:00-18:00
